The NOLA TIF project, funded by a grant from the federal government’s Teacher Incentive Fund, is dedicated to improving student achievement and promoting educator excellence in New Orleans. Four organizations – the Recovery School District, FirstLine Schools, KIPP New Orleans Schools, and ReNEW Charter Management Organization – are working with New Schools for New Orleans to implement project over 5 years.
At the 29 NOLA TIF schools, teachers in all subjects as well as administrators will be evaluated based on multiple observations. These evaluations will allow school leaders and organization administrators to provide rigorous assessment, aligned support designed to enable teachers and principals to become more effective educators. In addition, a teacher or administrator who is evaluated as a top performer or whose students demonstrate impressive academic achievement will be eligible for a performance-related bonus. At KIPP, all teachers at all 9 schools are a part of the NOLA TIF program.

By championing professional excellence with a focus on student achievement, NOLA TIF will support the continued drive toward achieving excellent public schools for every child in New Orleans.
